Everyday newspapers and online ads are offering up dogs for sale. Dogs of every breed shape and size are available for a price. If you look closely and are an astute negotiator sometimes you can find what seems to be a bargain. You may be offered a ‘non-papered’ purebred, which means getting the dog you want at a reduced price.

I don’t understand the mentality of a company that does animal testing. And where do they find employees who willingly participate in the torture of these innocent creatures?

Yes, I would understand if we took our lives in our hands every time we used soap to wash our hands. If testing on an animal kept our children from being harmed or losing their life, then yes, I could understand. But we don’t risk our lives by washing our hands, shampooing our hair, or cleaning our bathrooms.

In toxicology tests non-human primates (NHPs) are selected as most suited to studies of neurology, behavior, reproduction, genetics and xenotransplantation (Wikipedia describes this as ‘the transplantation of living cells, tissues or organs from one species to another’). They are also used in Aids tests. They are mainly purpose bred in USA, China and Europe but they are also caught in the wild or even gathered from zoos and circuses. There is great demand for them in laboratories as they are considered as being central to vaccine development and also Deep Brain Stimulation tests.
